The relations between Iraq and Germany have increasingly intensified these past years. The bilateral trade volume amounted to more than EUR 1.6 billion in 2017. The Iraqi market offers big potential for German business. Ambitious and feasible projects have been outlined up until 2022, and hundreds of billions of US-Dollars have been invested in projects in all areas, especially water supply, power generation, health and housing. Â
The German government provides comprehensive assistance to the political and economic reconstruction process in Iraq. The traditionally close economic ties between the two countries can be instrumental in helping reconstruct Iraq’s infrastructure and economy, thus having a positive impact on Iraq’s political stabilization.
To further strengthen and expand the promising Iraqi-German business relations, the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, together with the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), and in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq and further partners from both countries, are organizing the
